THE DIMMING HOPE

Slowly,
Without any discernible evidence,
Just like yesterday,
And it is today,
the picture the same everyday,
Yet, in our own eyes,
The hope keeps on dimming.

Dimming like the evening sun,
Slowly ebbing like the ancient beliefs,
calmly, without apparent haste,
One waste marries the other,
Norm as it may be,
The hope still grows dim.

And when all shall be gone,
What’ll remain shall be the memories.
Memories that shall
Slowly disintegrate,
“Son,
this was the how the Rhino looked like!”
